QR code tracking for every poster and pack
Each editable code counts its own scans. Put one on every flyer and see which place works.
QR code tracking counts the scans of each editable code, so you can see how many people scanned a poster, a flyer or a pack, and when. Make one code per place, print them and compare the numbers in the app. Choose editable above, because a fixed code holds no link to count through.
Every scan, counted by place
Ten flyers, ten codes. The app shows which café brings the scans and which one stays quiet.
How to track a QR code
Choose editable
Tracking works through the short link inside an editable code. A fixed code goes straight to the page, with nothing to count.
One code per place
Name each code after where it goes: Café flyer, Station poster, Box insert. The names make the numbers readable.
Watch the first week
Open the codes in the app to see scans by day, live, and move flyers from quiet places to busy ones.
Tracked or fixed?
-
Fixed
A fixed code is free and opens the page directly, which is why it cannot count. Use it where numbers do not matter, such as a Wi-Fi card.
-
Editable Recommended here
An editable code sends each scan through a short link, counts it and then opens your page. You can also change the page later, so one print run serves several campaigns.
What you can see
Scans by day
Each code shows its scans over time, so a quiet Tuesday and a busy Saturday stand out at a glance.
Code against code
Compare the café flyer with the station poster and spend the next print run where people scan.
Live while it runs
The real-time view shows scans as they come in, handy on the day of an event or a launch.
Numbers you can keep
Export the scans to CSV or Excel from Starter and add them to your own reports.
Where one code per place pays off
- Flyers around town
- Ten cafés, ten codes. After two weeks you know the three spots worth a second print run, and the seven you can skip.
- Packaging and inserts
- A code per product or pack size shows which items customers scan, long after the box has left the shop.
- Signs and posters
- Compare the window poster with the street sign, or one listing's rider with another, by scans per day.
Questions
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Can you track scans of a static QR code?
No. A static (fixed) code holds the destination itself, so the scan never passes a server that could count it. Tracking needs an editable code.
What does QR code tracking show?
How many times each editable code was scanned and when, with a real-time view and exports to CSV or Excel from Starter.
How do I compare two flyers?
Give each flyer its own editable code, named after where it goes. After a week or two, the scan counts show which one works.
Do people see anything different when they scan?
No. The short link opens your page straight away; counting happens on the way through.
What does tracking cost?
It comes with editable codes: the 14-day trial includes it with no card, then Starter is $9 a month with 50 codes.
