Get more Google reviews from one table card
Put your review form one scan away at the moment people feel good about you, and let the card do the asking.
To get more Google reviews, ask when the customer is happiest and put the form one scan away. A table card or counter stand with a QR code asks every guest the same way and opens your Google review form directly. Copy your review link from Google Business Profile, paste it above and print one card per table.
The card does the asking
A guest finishes dessert, scans the card and the Google review form opens with the stars ready.
How to collect reviews with a table card
Copy your review link
In your Google Business Profile, choose the option to ask for reviews. Google shows a short link that opens your form with the stars ready to tap.
Make the code with a frame line
Paste the link into the generator. A frame line such as "How did we do?" tells guests what happens before they scan.
Scan it from a guest's phone
Test with a phone signed in to another account. The star form should open, not your owner dashboard.
Place it where the moment happens
One card on every table and one by the till. The bill folder works too, when phones are already out to pay.
Worked example: a café with twelve tables
- The set-up
- A café prints twelve tent cards and one counter stand, all with the same review code and the line "Two minutes for a review? Thank you." The code is 3.5 cm wide, so it reads from a seat.
- The routine
- Staff mention the card once, when they bring the bill. Nobody is singled out, because every table carries the same card.
- What the owner checks
- Once a week the owner reads the new reviews in the Business Profile and answers each one. With an editable code, the dashboard also shows which days bring the most scans.
Fixed or editable for a review card?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
Your review link stays the same for as long as the Business Profile exists, so a fixed code is a sound free choice for one location. It opens the form directly and works without any account.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
Choose editable when you run several locations or want to know which cards get scanned. Give each location its own code, compare scans by day, and point every card at a new form after a rebrand. From $9 a month after the 14-day trial; it stops forwarding if you stop paying, with warnings first.
Card wording and placement that get scans
Ask a question, not a command
"How did we do?" beside the code earns more scans than a bare logo, because it tells people what the code is for and that you want to hear from them.
Keep it upright
A tent card stands where a flat sticker gets covered by plates. On the counter, put the stand next to the card reader, where every customer looks.
Answer what you get
Replying to reviews, good and bad, shows the next guest that someone reads them, which makes the card on the table more convincing.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
How soon do table cards bring more reviews?
Most places see the first card-driven reviews within days, because every guest now sees the ask. How many depends on footfall and on staff mentioning the card. Count new reviews per week before and after the cards go out.
Can I ask only the guests who seem happy?
No. Google's review rules forbid choosing whom you ask, which is called review gating. A card on every table asks everyone the same way, keeps you within the rules and still catches the guests who enjoyed their visit.
Can I offer a discount for leaving a review?
Not for Google reviews. Rewards in exchange for reviews break Google's policies, and reviews written for a reward can be removed. Thank people instead, and keep any offer separate from the review request.
Do guests need a Google account to review?
Yes, a review needs a signed-in Google account. Most Android phones are signed in already, and iPhone users can sign in from the form. That is one more reason to keep the rest of the path down to a single scan.
Should every table card use the same code?
For one location, yes: one fixed code printed on every card is simplest. To compare the terrace with the dining room, or one branch with another, give each group its own editable code and read the scans per code.
