E-mail QR code
Set the address, subject and first line. A scan opens the mail app with the message ready to send.
An e-mail QR code opens a new message in the phone's mail app with the recipient, subject and first lines filled in. The person scanning only presses Send. Use it for orders, catalogue requests and feedback that should reach one inbox with a subject you can sort. Enter the details below and download the code.
One scan, one tap on Send
The code opens a ready-made e-mail to your inbox. The reader checks it and sends.
Templates for this code
-

A banner that tells people the scan opens an e-mail, for service desks.
-
Feedback box
Mint background for feedback cards on tables and counters.
-
Support sticker
A compact boxed code for device stickers and manuals.
How to make an e-mail QR code
Choose the inbox
Use a shared address like orders@ or hello@ rather than a personal one, so the code keeps working when people change roles.
Write a subject you can filter
"Catalogue request: autumn fair" lets you sort replies by campaign without any tracking.
Pre-fill the message
An opening line such as "Please send me the price list" saves the sender typing and gets you clearer requests.
Send yourself a test
Scan the preview and send the message to check the address, subject and line breaks.
Fixed or editable for e-mail?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
Fixed works well when the inbox is stable. The address and text sit in the code and open in any mail app, with nothing in between. Free.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
Choose editable if the receiving address may change, or if you want scan counts per poster or per stand. You can point the code at a different address or subject later. It needs a plan, pass or the 14-day trial.
Where e-mail codes work best
Catalogue and quote requests
Trade fair visitors request the price list on the spot, and the subject line tells you which stand they came from.
Feedback and complaints
A code on the receipt or in the hotel room opens a message to the manager, which many guests prefer to a public review.
Support stickers on devices
Stick a code on the printer or the coffee machine. It opens a message to the help desk with the device name in the subject.
Newsletter sign-ups at events
A pre-filled "Please add me" message is a sign-up form that needs no website.
Print tips for e-mail codes
Long messages make big codes
Every character of the subject and body goes into the code. Keep the pre-filled text to a line or two so the code stays small.
Print the address too
Show the e-mail address in text beside the code for people reading on a laptop or a phone without a mail app set up.
Label the action
"Scan to request the price list" tells people what will happen when the mail app opens.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
What does an e-mail QR code contain?
A mailto link: the recipient address plus, if you want, a subject and message text. Phones treat it like tapping an e-mail link on a website and open the default mail app.
Can I add CC or several recipients?
The generator takes one recipient, which works best on phones. For copies to colleagues, use a shared inbox that forwards to them.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, with any mail app that is set up on the phone, including Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail. If no mail app is configured, the phone may ask which app to use.
Is the message sent automatically?
No. The mail app opens with the message filled in, and the person decides whether to edit it and press send.
Can I track how many people scan my e-mail code?
With an editable code you see every scan in the dashboard. With a fixed code you can still count the e-mails that arrive with your pre-filled subject.
Make the right e-mail easy to send
Enter the address, a subject you can sort by and an opening line, then download.
