How to put your menu on a code

Menu print specs

- A4 or Letter, with the code at least 3 cm wide in a corner where a thumb does not cover it.
- Table tent
- 5 by 7 inches per face on 300 gsm card. A short link code reads well at 5 cm from a seat.

- Matte lamination survives wiping and does not throw ceiling light back into the camera.

Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
What is a QR code menu?
A code on the table or the menu cover that opens your menu on the guest's phone. They read it, order and pay as usual.
Can I change the menu without reprinting?
Yes, with an editable code. You upload the new file and every printed code opens it from the next scan.
Should the menu be a PDF or a web page?
Either works. A PDF keeps your printed layout. A page on your site is easier to update if you already have one.
Which template suits a bar?
The bar designs use darker gold, wine and plum colours with bold or retro type, and drink icons in the middle of the code.
Do menu codes work for takeaway orders?
Yes. Point the code at your order page instead of the menu and use a call to action such as Scan to order.
