Codes on your own domain show your name in the link, and you control where that domain points, now and later.
Who can add one
A custom domain is part of the trial, every pass and every plan from Starter. Starter takes a subdomain such as go.yourbrand.com. A root domain such as yourbrand.com starts on Pro, and only where your DNS host supports ALIAS, ANAME or CNAME flattening. Owners and admins of a workspace can manage domains.
Steps
- Open Domains from the account menu.
- Under Add a domain, enter the Domain, for example go.yourbrand.com. For a root domain, also tick My DNS host supports ALIAS, ANAME or CNAME flattening (needed for a root domain).
- Press Continue. The next page shows the record to add, with its type, name and value, and a Copy button for each.
- Add that record at your DNS host. The page names your host and gives its steps; see Add the DNS record at your provider.
- Wait for the status to reach Connected. While the page is open we check every few seconds, or press Check now. The certificate is issued on its own.
After it is connected
- Use for new codes makes the domain the default for codes you create from now on. Codes you already have stay on their domain: changing the link of a printed code would break it.
- New code on this domain creates an editable code there, with an optional Short link ending (optional) of your choice.
If setup is not finished within 7 days, it stops and you can start again. Remove domain asks you to type the name to confirm.
