QR codes for real estate agents
Listings change every few weeks. Codes that move with them keep the same signs, flyers and cards working all year.
Real estate agents put QR codes on sign riders, listing flyers and business cards. A rider code is editable, so one printed sign points at whichever listing it stands in front of and counts its scans. Flyer codes show interest per property. The card code saves your contact to the buyer's phone and can stay fixed and free.
The sign that follows your listings
One rider, one code. Point it at the next property and the same sign keeps selling.
Where codes work in property
Signs and riders
Buyers stand at the kerb wanting photos and the price. A code on the rider gets them there before they drive on.
Flyers and window cards
Open-house flyers and office window cards with their own codes show which listings draw attention, week by week.
Your card
A contact code on your card saves you to the phone, so the buyer can find you months later when they are ready.
Fixed or editable for agents
-
Fixed QR code (static)
Keep your business card code fixed and free if your number and e-mail are stable. It works on any phone with no account behind it.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic) Our pick for this job
Make rider and flyer codes editable: listings sell and move, and you want scans per property. Starter is $9 a month with 50 editable codes, and a custom subdomain such as go.youragency.com is included.
Worked example: a two-agent office
- Riders
- The office owns eight riders with eight codes, named Rider 1 to Rider 8. Each points at its current listing on the office site.
- Window cards
- Every listing in the office window has a card with its own code, and the weekly scan counts go into the update for each seller.
- Cards
- Both agents carry business cards with a fixed contact code, reprinted only when a phone number changes.
Getting started
Count your signs
One editable code per physical rider, plus one per window card or flyer you want to measure.
Connect your domain
A short link on your agency's own domain looks trustworthy to buyers and keeps the codes in your hands.
Print big and test outside
Print rider codes large, then scan them from the pavement in daylight and at dusk before the sign goes up.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Can I reuse the same rider for every listing?
Yes, with an editable code. Change where it points when the sign moves to the next property; the printed rider stays the same.
How big should a code on a sign be?
Roughly a tenth of the distance it is read from: about 20 cm for a sign read from 2 metres. Riders at the kerb need much more than flyers.
Can sellers see how many people scanned their sign?
You can, and you can pass it on: each code counts its scans by day, which makes a concrete line in your seller updates.
What does it cost for a small office?
Business card codes are free. Riders and flyers need editable codes: Starter is $9 a month with 50 codes after a 14-day trial that needs no card.
Where do buyers land when they scan?
Straight on the listing you chose. You can point the code at a new listing any time, and every scan is counted by day.
Make signs that follow your listings
Start with one rider code, point it at your newest listing and test it from the street.
