Real estate sign riders for every listing
Signs move from house to house. With an editable code, the rider sends buyers to the listing the sign is standing at.
A real estate sign rider with an editable QR code works for every listing the sign stands at. Print the rider once, point its code at the current listing, and when the house sells, change the destination in the app. Buyers scanning from the pavement land on the right photos, price and viewing times, and you see scans per property.
One rider, every listing
A buyer walking past scans the sign and the listing opens with photos, price and viewing times.
How to set up rider codes
Give every sign its own code
Name each code after the sign, such as "Rider 3", not after a house. The sign moves; the name still fits.
Point it at the listing
Use the listing page on your site or portal. A page that loads fast over mobile data matters more than a long description.
Print large and weatherproof
Riders are read from the pavement or a slow car. Print the code big, on UV-resistant material, with a line such as "Scan for photos and price".
Move the destination with the sign
When the sign goes up at the next property, change where its code points in the app. Edits go live on the next scan.
Worked example: an agent with five riders
- Five signs, five codes
- An agent owns five riders, each with its own code. Three stand at active listings and two wait in the car boot.
- A sale on Thursday
- The house at rider 2 sells. On Friday the rider goes up at a new listing, and the agent changes the destination from a phone before driving off.
- A monthly look at scans
- The counts show that the corner-plot listing drew twice the scans of the others, which gives the agent something concrete to tell the sellers.
Fixed or editable for sign riders?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A fixed code holds one listing's address for good. That suits a sign made for a single property, but once the house sells, the rider points to a sold page or a dead link.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic) Our pick for this job
Editable is the right fit for riders: one code per sign, moved to each new listing, with scans counted per property. Starter is $9 a month with 50 editable codes after a 14-day trial; codes stop forwarding if you stop paying, with warnings first.
Sizes and placement for signs
Size for the distance
A code read from about 2 metres needs to be roughly 20 cm wide. A rider at hip height on a front lawn should not be smaller than that.
Keep it flat and clean
Mount the rider flat, away from the edge of the post, and wipe it when you visit. Dirt and glare stop more scans than size does.
Add the short link in text
Print the short address under the code for people who prefer to type, and for cameras that struggle to focus at dusk.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Can one code really work for different houses?
Yes, that is what an editable code is for. The printed pattern holds a short link, and you choose in the app which listing it opens. Change it as often as the sign moves.
Do buyers see an ad before the listing?
Buyers land straight on the listing you chose. oqrely never puts ads on your redirects, and on your own domain the short link carries your agency's name.
Should the code open my site or a portal?
Whichever page loads quickly on a phone and shows photos, price and how to book a viewing. Your own site keeps the buyer with you; a portal page is fine if that is where your listings live.
How do I know a sign is working?
Each code counts its scans by day. A sign on a busy corner with few scans may be hard to read: move it, print the code larger or clean it.
What happens to the riders if my plan ends?
Editable codes stop forwarding when a plan ends. Reactivate within 12 months with no fee, and the same riders work again.
Print riders that follow your listings
Make the first rider code here, then add one per sign in the app and point each at its listing.
