Facebook QR code for your page, group or event
Paste the address of your page, group or event. A scan opens it on the phone, ready to like, join or reply.
A Facebook QR code holds the address of your Facebook page, group or event, so one scan takes people straight there. Copy the link from the address bar or the Share menu and paste it below. Phones open the Facebook app when it is installed, or the browser otherwise. The code is free and downloads without a watermark.
From the poster to your page
Visitors scan the poster and land on your Facebook page, one tap from Follow.
Templates for this code
-
Page banner
A navy code with Find us on Facebook, for shop windows and event posters.
-
Group invite
A boxed code that invites people into a local group or community page.
-
Market stall
Rounded modules on cream for stalls, fairs and handmade product tags.
How to make a Facebook QR code
Copy the right link
Open your page, group or event, tap Share and copy the link. A short page name such as facebook.com/yourshop makes a smaller code than a long one with tracking parameters.
Paste it and choose the colours
Dark blue on white reads well and matches the platform, but any dark colour from your brand works. The contrast check warns when it gets too light.
Scan the preview from a phone that is logged out
That shows what a stranger sees. Private groups ask visitors to request access, which is fine, but check that the page itself is public.
Download for print
SVG, PDF or EPS for posters and leaflets; PNG for slides and screens.
Fixed or editable for Facebook?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A page address rarely changes, so a fixed code is a good free choice for most pages and groups. It keeps working as long as the page exists.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
Pick editable if you print one code for many events, so you can point it at the next event each month, or if you want to see how many people scanned each poster. From $9 a month or a pass from $12, after a 14-day trial.
Where a Facebook code earns its space
Local events
A poster for a quiz night or a market links the event itself, where people tap Going and get the reminder.
Community groups
Clubs, schools and neighbourhood groups put the code on notices so new members find the right group, not a lookalike.
Shop windows and counters
A code by the till brings regulars to the page where you post opening hours and offers.
Delivery bags
A small code on the bag turns one order into a follower who sees the next menu or sale.
Print tips for Facebook codes
Size for the distance
On a poster read from 1 m, plan about 14 cm for a short link. On a flyer in the hand, 3 to 4 cm is enough.
Say what the scan does
A line such as Find us on Facebook or Join our group under the code doubles the scans compared to a bare square.
Keep logos off the corners
If you add a logo, keep it in the middle. The three corner squares must stay visible for phones to find the code.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Does Facebook have its own QR code?
Pages can show a code inside the app, but it comes in Facebook's design. A code from the generator above opens the same page and can carry your colours, a frame and a caption, in print formats.
Can a QR code open a Facebook group?
Yes. Paste the group's link. Public groups open directly; private groups show the request-to-join screen, which is what new members need anyway.
Will the code open the Facebook app?
On most phones a facebook.com link opens the app when it is installed and the browser when it is not. The visitor does not need to do anything.
What happens if I rename my page?
A fixed code keeps the old address, and Facebook usually forwards an old page name for a while but not forever. If renaming is likely, use an editable code so you can update it.
Can one code link an event that changes every month?
With an editable code, yes: point it at the next event when the last one is over and keep the same printed poster on the wall.
Is a Facebook QR code free?
Yes as a fixed code: it downloads in SVG, PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF and EPS without an account and without a watermark.
