QR code with logo, tested before you print
Drop your logo into the code, pick your colours and let three decoders confirm it still scans. Free for fixed codes.
A QR code with a logo hides a few squares in the middle behind your mark and lets the code's error correction fill them back in. Upload your logo above: the generator raises error correction, keeps the logo in the safe area and test-scans the result before you download. Fixed codes with a logo are free.
Your logo, still scanning
A poster with your mark in the middle of the code. Phones read it on the first try.
How to add a logo to a QR code
Enter the link or content first
Shorter content means fewer squares and more room for the logo. A short link from an editable code helps here too.
Add your logo
Use the Add a logo button in the design step. A square mark on a plain background works better than a wide wordmark.
Watch the print check
The line under the preview tells you if the logo covers too much or sits on a part scanners need. Only a red result stops the download.
Download a vector file for print
SVG, PDF or EPS keep both the code and the logo sharp at any size. PNG, JPG and WebP suit screens and documents.
Logo on a fixed or an editable code?
-
Fixed
A fixed code with a logo is free and permanent. Because the whole address is inside the code, a long address leaves less room for the logo, so keep it short.
-
Editable
An editable code prints only a short link, so it has fewer, larger squares and carries a logo more easily. You can also change the destination later. It needs a plan, a pass or the 14-day trial.
Logo rules that keep a code readable
Keep the corners clear
The three large squares in the corners tell a phone where the code is. A logo or a frame over them breaks scanning on many phones.
Give the logo a quiet edge
A small white border around the logo separates it from the squares, which helps cameras in poor light.
Contrast beats colour
Dark squares on a light background scan best. The check warns when your colours are too close, including for colour-blind viewers.
Test with more than one phone
The print check already uses three decoders. A final scan with an older phone at the real print size is still worth the minute.
Print specs for logo codes
- Size
- A logo code needs about the same size as one without, because the logo replaces squares the code can afford to lose. The check gives the smallest width it prints well at.
- File type
- Send SVG or PDF to a printer. Raster logos inside a vector file stay at their own resolution, so upload a large, sharp image.
- Finish
- Keep foil and spot varnish off the code. A glossy logo can reflect light and hide the squares around it.
Questions
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Does a logo stop a QR code from working?
Not if it stays within the code's error correction. The generator raises the correction level when you add a logo and the print check decode-tests the result, so you know before you print.
Is a QR code with a logo free?
Yes for fixed codes: add your logo and download in SVG, PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF and EPS without signing up and without a watermark.
Which logo file works best?
A square PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG with a plain background. Wide wordmarks shrink to fit the safe area and can become hard to read.
Can I put the logo somewhere other than the middle?
The middle is the safest place because it never covers the corner squares. Other positions risk hiding the parts scanners need.
Why did my logo get smaller?
The generator caps the logo at the size the code can carry. A larger logo would hide more squares than error correction can rebuild.
Can I add the logo to many codes at once?
In the app, bulk jobs and brand kits apply the same logo and colours to every code. The free bulk tool on this site makes plain codes.
