A Hovercode alternative for campaigns with an end date

Pay once for a campaign, keep printed codes running for little, and take your own domain with you.

Hovercode is a clear, well-made tool, and its first 3 dynamic codes never expire. oqrely fits when codes follow campaigns, events or seasons: one-time passes from $12 run 1 to 5 editable codes for 3, 6 or 12 months and never renew, Starter is $9 a month, and fixed codes are free without an account.

What each one does well

Hovercode states its cancellation rule plainly in its pricing FAQ and keeps your codes on file. oqrely adds what campaign work often asks for: a one-time price for a fixed period, a low monthly fee to keep printed codes running, and an export with redirect rules for your own domain.

What Hovercode does better

Your first 3 dynamic codes are free and never expire, even after you cancel a paid plan. For a freelancer with one menu and one business card, that is the whole need, at no cost. oqrely has no free editable codes; its lowest-cost way to keep codes running is Keep-alive at $3 a month.

How to move from Hovercode

Hovercode codes on its own short domains resolve through Hovercode, and your first 3 stay active even on the free plan, so you can keep those and move the rest.

  1. Export what you can

Hovercode lists CSV exports on Business and Business Plus. On other plans, copy each code's destination from the dashboard.

  2. Decide which codes stay

Your first 3 dynamic codes keep working on Hovercode's free plan. Codes beyond them become inactive when you cancel, so recreate those in oqrely first.

  3. Create them in oqrely

Make each one an editable code, or upload the CSV in Bulk create and map the destination column.

  4. Move custom-domain codes

Hovercode's FAQ says codes on your custom domain stop working when you cancel. Connect the same domain in oqrely, point its record to oqrely and recreate each link ending once it shows Connected, so printed codes keep resolving.

  5. Cancel from settings

Once the new codes are live, cancel from Hovercode's settings screen.

Questions about switching from Hovercode

What happens to Hovercode codes when I cancel?

Its pricing FAQ says the account drops to the free plan: the first 3 dynamic codes, 3 short links and 1 page stay active, the rest become inactive but are kept, and custom-domain codes stop. We read it on 11 Oct 2026.

Can my custom-domain codes keep working after I leave Hovercode?

Yes, if you move the domain. Point it to oqrely and recreate each short link ending there; the printed codes then resolve through oqrely.

Does oqrely have a free plan like Hovercode's?

Not for editable codes. Fixed codes are free without an account, and editable codes start with a 14-day trial of 25 codes without a card.

How do Hovercode and oqrely prices compare?

Hovercode showed Pro at $12 a month for 100 dynamic codes and Business at $39 a month, with the VAT basis not stated, on 11 Oct 2026. oqrely Starter is $9 a month for 50 editable codes, and passes start at $12 once.

What does the oqrely export include?

A ZIP with your codes, destinations, designs, pages and daily scan totals, plus redirect rules for Nginx, Apache, Caddy, Cloudflare, Netlify and Vercel for codes on your own domain.

oqrely is not affiliated with Hovercode. The name only identifies the product being compared. Prices and rules change, so check Hovercode's own pages before you decide.
