Work through these in order. The full guide, with the scanner built in, is Why did my QR code stop working?.

1. Whose code is it?

Scan it with the QR code scanner. It shows the link inside without opening it.

  • A link on oqrely's short domain or on a domain you connected is an oqrely editable code.
  • No link at all, or plain content such as Wi-Fi details, means a fixed code: it cannot stop working on our side. Check the content itself, for example a changed Wi-Fi password.
  • A link on another company's domain belongs to that company, and only they can turn it back on. If it was on your own domain there, you can move the domain to oqrely; see Connect your own domain.

2. Is the account active?

If scanners see "This QR code isn't active right now.", the trial, pass or plan has ended or a payment failed. Reactivate the codes: they work again on the next scan with the same link.

3. Is the code itself on?

Open the code in the app. Under Status on the Content tab, a code may be turned off, archived, in the trash or over a scan limit you set. During the trial, the trial's daily scan cap may have been reached. Blocked for safety means the destination failed a safety check.

4. Does the destination work?

Open the destination in a browser. A moved or deleted page shows an error after the redirect; change the destination on the Content tab.

5. Is your domain's DNS right?

For codes on your own domain, open Domains. If the domain is not Connected, the page says what is wrong; see Add the DNS record at your provider.

Still stuck? Send the code's link from Help in the app.
