QR codes for events and weddings
One date, printed once. Pay once for codes that work until after the day, with the end date on your receipt.
Events and weddings use QR codes for a few busy weeks: an RSVP code on the invitation, a table code that opens a shared photo album and a Wi-Fi code for the venue. Album and Wi-Fi codes work as free fixed codes. An RSVP code that may change fits a one-time pass, paid once and never renewed.
Every guest's photos in one album
A card on each table. Guests scan and add their pictures to the shared album before dessert.
Where codes help around the day
On the invitation
One code opens the event page with the date, the place, a calendar button and the RSVP form.
On the tables
A code to a shared album collects the candid photos guests take, in one place instead of forty phones.
At the venue
A Wi-Fi code on the welcome sign gets guests online for photos and messages without asking the staff.
What to pay for
-
Fixed QR code (static)
Wi-Fi and a shared album link can be free fixed codes. They work without any account and do not depend on a plan or pass.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
RSVPs need an editable code with a hosted event page. The Event pass suits a single date: $12 for 3 months, paid once and never renewed. For codes you keep changing all year, a plan from $9 a month fits better.
Worked example: a 60th birthday party
- Invitations
- The invitation carries an RSVP code, and replies with dietary needs come in over four weeks.
- The pass
- The host buys the shortest pass, $12 for 3 months, which covers the party and the weeks after it, and never renews.
- On the night
- Table cards carry the photo album code and the welcome sign has the Wi-Fi code. Both are free fixed codes.
Getting started
Set the dates
Note the invitation date, the reply-by date and the event date, then pick a pass that runs 30 days past the event.
Make the free codes
Create the Wi-Fi and album codes in the generator and download them without signing up.
Build the RSVP page
Set up the event page and its RSVP form in the app on your pass, then print its code on the invitations.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Which pass should I buy for an event?
The shortest one that covers the event plus about 30 days, for late photos and thank-you notes. A pass is paid once and never renews.
Can one code handle RSVPs and photos?
Keep them separate. The invitation code is for replies before the day; the table code is for photos on the day. Two clear jobs get more scans than one code that tries to do both.
What happens after the pass ends?
Editable codes on it stop forwarding. Free fixed codes, such as the Wi-Fi and album codes, keep working.
Is a pass refundable?
A pass is refunded in full within 14 days if its codes had fewer than 50 scans, and pro rata after that. Refunded codes go inactive at once.
Do guests need an account for anything?
Not for the RSVP form or the Wi-Fi code. Adding photos to a shared album needs a Google or Apple account, depending on which album service you use.
