QR codes for nonprofits and charities
Small budgets, printed flyers and one-off events. Pay only for the codes that need to change or count.
Nonprofits use QR codes on fundraiser flyers, event invitations and community notice boards. A fixed code to your donation page or the hall's Wi-Fi is free and needs no account. Pay only where a code must change or count: editable codes for flyers you compare, and a one-time pass for an event with RSVPs.
A poster that collects donations
Supporters scan the flyer on the notice board and land on your donation page, ready to give.
Where codes help a small team
Fundraiser flyers
A code per area or venue shows where supporters respond, so the next print run goes where it works.
Event invitations
One code opens the event page with the RSVP form, for galas, open days and volunteer evenings.
Halls and community spaces
A Wi-Fi code on the wall lets volunteers and visitors join the network without hunting for the password.
Spend only where it counts
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A donation page, the volunteer sign-up form and the hall Wi-Fi rarely change. Fixed codes for them are free and keep working without any plan.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
Editable codes are worth it for measured flyer runs and for RSVPs. Passes are paid once and never renew: $12 for 3 months for one code, or 50 codes on a campaign pass from $49.
Worked example: a food bank's winter appeal
- Flyers by area
- The appeal prints flyers for four neighbourhoods, each with its own code on a campaign pass, all leading to the donation page.
- Halfway through
- Two areas show most of the scans, so the volunteers spend the second weekend leafleting there.
- After the appeal
- The campaign pass ends without renewing. The donation page carries on, and next winter's flyers get fresh codes.
Getting started
Sort codes into free and paid
Anything permanent gets a free fixed code. Anything you want to compare, or an event with replies, gets an editable code.
Match the pass to the campaign
A single-code pass for one event, or a campaign pass for several areas. Both are paid once.
Test with a volunteer's phone
Before printing, ask a volunteer to scan the proof and walk through the donation or RSVP page.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Can a nonprofit use oqrely for free?
Yes, for fixed codes: make as many as you like, without signing up and without a watermark. Editable codes need a plan or a pass.
Where do donors land when they scan?
Straight on the page you chose, such as your donation page. With an editable code on your own subdomain, the link shows your organisation's name as well.
What if our budget runs out mid-year?
Passes are paid once and never renew. If a plan ends, you can reactivate within 12 months with no fee.
Can we link straight to a donation platform?
Yes. Any web address works, including the donation page of the platform you already use. Test it on a phone before printing.
How do supporters know the code is genuine?
Print your organisation's name next to the code and, with editable codes, use your own subdomain, so the link shows your name. Anyone can also check a link with our free QR code safety check.
Print the appeal, keep the budget
Start with free fixed codes for your donation page and hall Wi-Fi, then add editable codes where you need numbers.
