AR QR code: your product in their room
One scan puts a 3D model on the table in front of them, on iPhone and Android.
An AR QR code opens a page with your 3D model. iPhones and iPads show it in AR Quick Look, Android phones in Google's Scene Viewer, and people place it on their floor or table at real size. You upload a USDZ file for Apple, a GLB file for Android and a still picture for computers.
See it in your room
A shopper scans the code on the box and the lamp appears on their desk.
Templates for this code
-
AR shelf tag
Ink squares for a small tag next to the product.
-
See it in your room
A banner that says what the scan does.
-
3D catalogue corner
Rounded modules for the corner of a catalogue page.
How to make an AR QR code
Export your model
Save it as USDZ for Apple and GLB for Android. Most 3D tools export both.
Upload both files
Add them in Files, then start from the AR viewer template.
Add a still picture
It shows on computers and on the button that opens the model.
Print the code
On the box, the shelf tag or the catalogue page.
Why an AR viewer uses an editable code
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A fixed code holds only a short text, far too small for a 3D model.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
The model lives on a page we host, so you can swap in a new version and the printed code keeps working. Try it 14 days free, then plans from $9 a month.
Where AR helps people decide
Furniture and lighting
Will the chair fit next to the sofa? They see it before they buy.
Packaging
The product steps out of the box on the shop shelf.
Trade fairs
Show the large machine that did not fit on the stand.
Museums and tours
Visitors walk around a sculpture or a fossil on their own table.
Catalogues
A printed page turns into a model they can turn and resize.

Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
How does an AR QR code work?
People scan the code, tap View in AR and point their phone at the floor or a table. The model appears there.
Which phones show the model in AR?
iPhones and iPads with AR Quick Look, and Android phones with Google's Scene Viewer. Both are built in.
Which files do I need?
A USDZ file for Apple and a GLB file for Android. You can upload just one if your buyers mostly use one kind of phone.
What do people on a computer see?
Your still picture, a note to scan with their phone, and both files to download.
Can people resize the model?
Yes, unless you choose real size only. Then it always shows at its true scale.
Can I change the model later?
Yes. Upload the new files and the printed code opens the new model.
Let them see it at home first
Upload your model and put the code on the box.
