Asset tag QR codes for equipment and inventory
Each label opens the record for that item: who owns it, where it belongs and what was done to it.
An asset tag QR code opens the record of one item: ID, name, owner, location, notes and the maintenance log, plus a form to report a problem. Technicians with the staff PIN add log entries on the spot. Print one label per item with the bulk asset template, which puts each asset ID on its own code.
Projector not working?
A teacher scans the label and sees the last service date and a form to report the fault.
Templates for this code

Equipment label

-
Report an issue
A banner with Scan for details.
-
Tool tag
Ink square modules for engraving.
How to label your equipment
Start from the Asset tag template
It holds the record, the log and a Report a problem form.
Add your list
One line per item: ID, name, location, owner. The bulk asset template prints a label for each.
Set a staff PIN
Technicians type it to add what they did to the log.
Stick and scan
Fit a label and scan it to see its record.
Why asset tags use editable codes
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A fixed code can only hold a static link, so the log and the report form need a hosted page.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
The record lives with us: moves, new owners and repairs show up the moment you add them. Try it 14 days free, then plans from $9 a month.

What each record holds
- The facts
- ID, name, location, owner and serial number.
- The log
- Dated entries from you and from technicians with the PIN.
- Report a problem
- Anyone who scans can tell you what is wrong.
- One list, many labels
- Keep all items in one list; each label opens its own line and its own log.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
How do asset tag QR codes work?
Each label opens the record of that item. The asset ID in the code picks the right line from your list.
Can technicians update the log from the label?
Yes. With the staff PIN they add what they did, with the date.
Can I label hundreds of items?
Yes. The bulk asset template makes one code per row of your spreadsheet.
Can anyone report a problem?
Yes. The Report a problem form sends you the details.
What if an item moves?
Change its location in the list and every scan shows the new place.
Does the record show on a phone without an app?
Yes. Any camera opens the record in the browser.
Can I keep the log private?
Leave out sensitive notes; the page shows what you write in the record and the log.
Know where everything is and what it needs
Upload your list in the app and print a label for each item.
