Deep link QR code that opens your app
Scans open the exact screen in your app, or the store when the app is missing.
A deep link QR code opens a screen inside your app, such as a product or an order, when the app is installed. Without the app, the scan opens the store or a web page, so nobody hits a dead end. The generator above makes a fixed code to the web version.
From shelf to app screen
A shopper scans the shelf tag and the product opens in the shop app, ready to buy.

How to make a deep link code
Find the app link
Your universal link or app address for the screen, from your developers.
Add the fallbacks
The store pages and a web page for phones without the app.
Test with and without the app
Scan on a phone that has the app and on one that does not.
Print it
Put the code where people meet the item: the shelf, the box, the poster.
Fixed or editable for deep links?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A fixed code holds one address. If your app supports universal links, a fixed code to that web address opens the app where it is installed.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
With an editable code you set app and web fallbacks per phone, change them later and see scans per day. Try it 14 days free, then plans from $9 a month.

Print tips for deep link codes
Name the app

Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
What is a deep link QR code?
A code that opens a particular screen inside an app, instead of the app's home screen or a website.
What if the person does not have the app?
The scan opens the store page or your web page, whichever you set as the fallback.
Do I need universal links?
They help. With universal links or Android app links set up, the app opens straight from the scan.
Can I change the screen later?
With an editable code, yes. Edit the link in the app and printed codes follow.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. You can set a different app link and fallback per platform.
Is a deep link code free?
A fixed code to one universal link is free in SVG, PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF and EPS. Fallbacks per phone need an editable code.
Skip the search inside the app
Make a fixed code above, or set app and store fallbacks in the app.
