A QR code for your Etsy shop
Fair visitors and happy buyers return to your shop in one scan, and the card looks as handmade as your work.
A QR code for your Etsy shop opens your shop page on the buyer's phone. Copy your shop link, paste it above and print the code on thank-you cards, stall signs, tags and packaging. Fair visitors browse later, and past buyers find you again when they want a gift.
From the shelf to the shop
A buyer scans the thank-you card weeks later and finds the matching mugs in your shop.
How to bring buyers back to your shop
Copy your shop link
Use the short shop address, etsy.com/shop/yourname, from your shop page.
Style the code
Pick a colour from your brand and a rounded style. Keep the code darker than its background.
Print it in three places
Thank-you cards in every parcel, swing tags on products and a sign at craft fairs.
Worked example: a ceramics maker at weekend markets
- The stall
- A small A5 sign reads "Too heavy to carry? Order from our Etsy shop" with a 5 cm code.
- The parcel
- Every order ships with a thank-you card and the same code under "Find matching pieces".
- The repeat order
- Buyers who want a second mug scan the card from their kitchen shelf weeks later.
Fixed or editable for an Etsy shop?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A fixed code holds your shop link. It is free and works for as long as the shop keeps its name.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
Choose editable if you might rename the shop, open your own site later or want to see whether the stall sign or the parcel card brings more visits. From $9 a month after the 14-day trial.
Small touches that sell
Name the next buy
"Find matching pieces" or "Gift sets here" gives a reason to scan.
Print on your stock
Kraft card or your usual paper keeps the code in your shop's look.
Link a section
A code to one shop section, such as gift sets, works well before holidays.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Which link should my Etsy QR code open?
Your shop page, etsy.com/shop/yourname, for general cards. A section or listing link works when the card is about one product range.
Can I put a QR code on Etsy packaging?
Yes. A thank-you card or sticker with your shop code in each parcel is common and helps buyers find you again.
Will the code open the Etsy app?
On phones with the Etsy app, the shop opens in the app. Others see the shop in the browser.
How big should the code be on a swing tag?
About 2 cm on a small tag, 5 cm on a stall sign read from a step back.
Can I use the same code for my own website later?
With an editable code, yes. Point it at your own site when you open one, and the printed cards follow.
Can the code match my brand colours?
Yes. Choose your brand colour for the code and a lighter one for the background, then check the preview scans before you print.
What should I write next to the code?
Say what the buyer finds: "Matching pieces", "Gift sets" or "New glazes every month". A clear reason earns more scans than the shop name on its own.
