Get more podcast listeners with one scan
People who hear about your show offline land on it in their own podcast app, ready to follow.
To get more podcast listeners from print, make a code that opens a page listing your show on every podcast app, so each listener follows where they already listen. Paste your show page link above, print it on stickers, cards and event slides, and name the episode worth starting with.
Your show, their app
A guest scans the sticker after your talk and follows the show in their usual podcast app.
How to turn people you meet into listeners
Use one show page
Your host or a smart link service gives a page that opens your show in Apple Podcasts, Spotify and others.
Make the code
Pick the podcast platform above and paste the show page link.
Name a first episode
"Start with episode 12: how we got our first client" gives a reason to press play.
Print where you speak
Event slides, stickers on the merch table, the back of business cards.
Worked example: a design podcast at a conference
- The talk
- The last slide shows the code for twenty seconds with "Episode 40 goes deeper on this".
- The table
- Stickers on the merch table carry the same code. People take one for later.
- The week after
- The host sees a jump in follows on the show's stats the days after the talk.
Fixed or editable for a podcast?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A fixed code holds your show page link. It is free and works as long as that page stays at its address.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
Choose editable to point the same stickers at your newest episode each week, or to count scans per event. From $9 a month after the 14-day trial.
Small things that bring listeners
Offer a start point
New listeners like a recommended first episode more than the latest one.
Put it on stage
A slide at the end of a talk is the best moment: the room just heard you speak.
Say it out loud
"Scan the code to hear the full story" turns the slide into an action.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Which link should a podcast QR code open?
A show page that lists every podcast app, so iPhone and Android listeners each follow in their own app. Most hosts provide one.
Can the code open my newest episode every week?
Yes, with an editable code. Point it at the new episode in the app and the printed stickers follow.
Where do podcast codes work best?
At events where you speak, on merch and stickers, on business cards and in the shop window of a local business that hosts the show.
How big should the code be on a slide?
At least 15 percent of the slide height, shown for twenty seconds, so the back rows can scan it.
Do listeners need an app to scan?
No. The phone camera reads the code. The show then opens in whichever podcast app the listener has.
Can I see how many listeners came from print?
Your podcast host shows follows by day. An editable code adds scans per sticker, card or event.
Should each event get its own podcast code?
Give each event its own editable code when you want to compare them. The scan counts then show which talk, fair or partner shop brought the most new listeners to the show.
