How to make a QR code with a logo
Put your mark in the middle, keep the pattern readable, and print it with confidence.
To make a QR code with a logo, enter your link, open Customise, upload the logo and let it sit in the centre on a white pad. Keep the logo under a quarter of the code's width, choose dark modules on a light background, and download SVG for print. The live check tells you it still scans.
Your logo, front and centre
The code keeps its eyes and its quiet margin, so phones read it at a glance while people see your brand first.
Find the smallest size that scans
Four steps to a logo code
Enter the link
Type the page the code should open. Short links make a smaller pattern with more room for the logo.
Open Customise
Choose Logo and upload a PNG or SVG. A square mark works best; wide wordmarks shrink to fit.
Keep it small
Hold the logo under a quarter of the code's width. The pattern repairs itself around it, up to a point.
Download and test
Take SVG or PDF for print and PNG for screens, then scan the printed proof with two phones.
What keeps a logo code scanning
A white pad behind the logo
A clear border around the mark stops it bleeding into the squares around it.
High error correction
The generator raises it when you add a logo, so a covered centre still decodes.
Contrast over colour
Brand colours are fine for the squares as long as they stay much darker than the background.

Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
Does a logo stop a QR code from scanning?
Only when it is too big or too faint. A centred logo under a quarter of the width, on a white pad, scans on current phones because the code repeats its data.
Which logo file works best?
A square PNG with a transparent background or an SVG. Simple marks read better at small sizes than detailed illustrations.
Can I put a logo on a fixed code for free?
Yes. Logos, colours and frames are free on fixed codes, and the downloads have no watermark.
Will the logo change if I edit the link later?
With an editable code the printed pattern stays the same when you change the link, logo included. A fixed code holds the link itself, so a new link means a new code.
How do I know it still scans?
The generator checks every design as you work and shows a red warning only when a phone would struggle. Scan the printed proof too.
Can I use my logo colours for the code?
Yes, as long as the squares stay dark and the background light. Dark navy, deep green or burgundy on white all work well.
