A conference badge QR code that saves contacts
People scan your badge and your name, role and e-mail land in their contacts before the conversation ends.
A conference badge QR code holds your contact card. When someone scans it, their phone offers to save your name, company, role, e-mail and website in one tap. Fill in the fields above, download the code and print it on your badge insert or a sticker for the lanyard.
Scan, save, stay in touch
A visitor scans your badge and your contact appears with a Save button, name and role filled in.
How to put your contact on a badge
Fill in the essentials
Name, company, role, e-mail and website. Fewer fields keep the code simple, so it scans fast from a lanyard.
Download the code
Get the SVG or PDF for print. A fixed contact code works with no account and no internet.
Print it large enough
At least 2.5 cm wide on a badge insert or a round sticker. A white margin around it helps cameras find it.
Worked example: a designer at a two-day trade fair
- The badge
- The event badge holds a sticker with a 3 cm contact code and the line "Scan to save my details".
- The talks
- After each chat, the visitor scans and saves the contact on the spot. No card swaps, no typing on a crowded stand.
- The follow-up
- Back home, new contacts write first, because the details already sit in their phone under the right name.
Fixed or editable for a badge?
-
Fixed QR code (static)
A fixed contact code stores your details in the code itself. It is free, works offline in busy halls and suits a badge for one event.
-
Editable QR code (dynamic)
Choose editable when you hand out badges for a whole team, want to update a role later or count scans per person. From $9 a month after the 14-day trial.
Badge tips for busy halls
Keep it at chest height
A short lanyard holds the code where a phone can reach without leaning in.
Skip the extra fields
Address and two phone numbers make the code dense. Name, role, e-mail and website are what people use.
Print one spare
A second sticker on the back of your phone case helps when the badge flips round.
Questions and answers
Before you print
- Is it free?
- Fixed codes are free: make as many as you like, download a PNG with no sign-up, and get every other format and print files with a free account. Editable codes come with a plan, a pass, Keep-alive or the 14-day trial.
- Can I change the link after printing?
- Yes, with an editable code. It holds a short link you control, so you can point the printed code somewhere new any time, and the next scan opens the new page. A fixed code keeps the link it was made with.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. A custom domain is included on passes, from Starter, and during the trial. Starter covers one subdomain, for example go.yourbrand.com, and apex domains start on Pro.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Editable codes work to the end of your paid period, and after a failed payment every code keeps working for 14 days. Turn codes back on within 12 months. Fixed codes keep working as long as their links do.
What should a badge QR code contain?
Your contact card: name, company, role, e-mail and website. Phones read it as a contact and offer to save it in one tap.
Does the badge code need internet to work?
A fixed contact code holds the details inside the code, so it works without signal, which helps in large exhibition halls.
Can event organisers make codes for every attendee?
Yes. Upload a list of attendees in the bulk tool and download one contact code per person for the badge print run.
How big should the code be on a name badge?
At least 2.5 cm wide, ideally 3 cm. Keep it high on the badge so the lanyard clip does not cover it.
Can I add a LinkedIn profile to the badge?
Add your profile address as the website field. People save it with your contact and can open it from there.
Can I use the same badge code at the next event?
Yes. A fixed contact code holds your details, so it works at every event until your role or e-mail changes. Then make a new one in a minute, or use an editable code and update it in the app.
Every handshake, saved
Fill in your contact details and print the badge sticker before the event.
